Boyzone singer Shane Lynch slams RTE after controversial appearance at The Late Late Show last week

BOYZONE's Shane Lynch criticized RTE after his controversial interview at last week's Late Late Show.

The singer arrived late at the studio after missing his flight from the UK while filming his new show and was not afraid to voice his opinions upon his arrival.

RTE broadcast the infamous boys' video at their first Late Late Show, 25 years ago, in 1993, aggravating Shane, 42.

Last night, on Niall Boylan's show on Clbadic Hits FM, the singer talked about the controversy, saying it was difficult for people to try to put him in a place he does not belong to.

He described the feeling: "The first time, as a dyslexic, I decided to put a pen on paper and write my story – which I think is a very good story – and you have a teacher who closes and tells you it's not enough, because it's not the same as what others do.

He stated that he had to fight for his individuality during his stay at Boyzone and admitted that he was "a little more expressive" than the others.

He said: "As for the rest of the world or the world's opinion, you can defend yourself or swallow what they have to say."

He also closed that image of "bad boy" that he wore during his debut with Boyzone, claiming that he was just "truthful" and that he "could not restrain himself".

The singer then laughed and said that he would come back to the end of the toy parade as an animator this weekend.

He also mentioned the comments of children watching the series during his outrageous speech.

He said, "The children should be in bed at that time, if it is not the end of the parade of toys, put them to bed and stop messing around."

The group appeared at the late-night talk show in anticipation of their Thank You & Goodnight tour and the release of their album. RTE declined to comment on the explosion.
