Creation of 70 technical jobs in Cork

The American company Park Place Technologies will create 70 technology jobs in Cork over the next two years.

The company, which is a post-warranty data center maintenance organization, today announced the opening of its new EMEA Operations Center in the city's neighborhood at Lapp's Quay.

The city district in Cork's Lapp's Quay, where the new office of the company will be located.

The company, headquartered in Ohio, currently supports more than 15,000 organizations in 115 countries and employs 1,100 people.

It will recruit customer service specialists, support badysts and top engineers for its new Cork office.

Speaking in Cork during the announcement, Tánaiste and Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said he was delighted to host Park Place Technologies in Cork.

"Ireland, as a committed member of the EU, continues to resonate with US companies as a prime location to serve its European clientele," he said.

Chris Adams, president and chief operating officer of Park Place, said: "This investment reinforces our position in the EMEA region and we believe we can offer our existing and potential new customers an option alternative for their support and maintenance activities, as well as for IT management.

The investment is being funded by IDA Ireland and Adams said partnerships with the government had clearly paved the way for growth and investment.
