MOUNT BETHEL, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that patients of Dr. Palmer Cuttoro of Cuttoro Dental Associates on South Delaware Drive in Mt. Bethel, Northampton County, could have been exposed to HIV or hepatitis B and C.

An investigation revealed that the office had not properly cleaned, disinfected or sterilized the devices, which resulted in a risk of infection.

In a statement, Dr. Rachel Levine, Secretary of Health of the Palestinian Authority, said: "Inadequate infection control procedures applied to this practice could create a risk of harm, it is why we recommend that patients be screened. "

The ministry recommends that people who have visited the office between January 1, 2007 and September 14, 2018 to be tested. They say this includes current and former patients who have had dental procedures in the office.

The Department of Health said it sent a letter of cessation and abstention to the dental office at the end of August and that Dr. Cuttoro had voluntarily surrendered his license.

The dental office is closed and the calls to the cabinet have remained unanswered. 69 News stopped at the office Tuesday afternoon. The lights were on and it seemed like someone was working inside, although no one came to the door.
