Eva McGee delivered a speech to the crowds at the funeral of her beloved brother, aged 21, as hundreds of worshipers gathered to pay homage to the gracious native Drumlish.
In a heartbreaking homage, she stopped crying to talk about the close relationship they loved growing together.
"Danny was my older brother," she said eloquently.
"He was very protective of me and always looked after me," she said.
"Danny was funny, caring, loving and had a larger-than-life personality.
"Danny was always in a good mood and he would not have anyone frowning, he would always encourage them."
Part of this sense of pride has been poignantly highlighted in a poem written by Eva in memory of her dear brother before today's Mbad.
Entitled simply, but precisely 'Brother', it reads as follows:
"You have done one last farewell to anyone or never said goodbye, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why,
We will miss you a million times, we will cry a million times,
If only love had saved you would never be dead,
In life we loved dearly, in death we still love you,
In our hearts, you occupy a place that nobody can occupy,
It broke our heart to lose you, but you did not go alone
Part of us went with you, the day God brought you home,
We'll meet again someday, I know in a better place,
Thank God, he made you my brother while you were here on earth. "
After the funeral, burial took place in the nearby local cemetery.
The death of Danny McGee is sadly missed by his family, his parents Don, Colleen, his brothers Brian, his sister Eva, his uncle Tim, Denise, his cousins Daniel and Nicole (United States), his family and a big circle of friends.
