Epic Games Uses Fortnite Ads to Counter Apex Legends

According to a report by FortniteNews, Epic Games seems to use advertisements to stave off competition from Respawn's Apawn Legends.

Apex Legends conquered the world with its surprise launch on February 4, 2019. In less than 72 hours, the game has gathered more than 10 million players and continues to receive praise from the gaming community as a whole.

Of course, being a Battle Royale game, Epic Games regards Apex Legends as a competition and seems to have deployed Fortnite ads for Apex Legends players.

Players who perform a Google search for Apex Legends have a chance to receive an advertisement for Epic's Fortic Battle Battle Royale. Since both titles are free Battle Royale games, this is not a surprising commercial decision for Epic Games.

Google allows advertisers to select a target audience on which to display their ads. This ensures that users receive ads that they can click on as opposed to an ad that does not apply to the user and is ignored.

Targeted advertising is not a new concept, even though it often provokes controversy over aspects of technology related to privacy.

Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends sparked a wave of discussion in the gaming community. The focus of this discussion seems to be based on the idea that Apex Legends is a "killer".

Although the aforementioned event does not indicate that Epic Games has the feeling threat by Apex Legends, it means that there is a sense of competition, which is great for the consumer.
