Gardaí appealed for witnesses after a man was killed and a Garda injured in an accident in Monaghan last night.
A silver Audi A6 did not stop for Gardaí near Castleblaney Garda station around 11.30am.
The car started and a Garda, in their late twenties and Letterkenny, was dragged over 500 meters.
He then crashed into a Skoda Octavia on Main Street, killing the driver, a man in his forties.
The driver of the Audi, who is also in his forties, has been arrested and is currently being held at Carrickmacross Garda station.
