Steven Gerrard responded to suggestions that the Rangers would have treated Lee Wallace badly.

Speaking at the club's AGM on Tuesday morning, Gerrard reacted to the suggestion of a supporter that the Rangers would have treated Wallace in a terrible way.

The 31-year-old has played just one minute in all competitions this season as his injury has dramatically reduced his playing time.

Borna Barisic and Jon Flanagan have both been drafted by Gerrard to compete for Wallace's left-back, with the former club captain seemingly unable to retain him when he returns to form.

But when a fan told him that the Rangers had treated Wallace badly, Gerrard disagreed.

"Lee Wallace was injured when I arrived and I missed him 12 months ago," he said.

"I pay tribute to the way Lee handled his business after being hurt.

"Let's be honest, as long as he's here, he's still part of my plans and trains with us, but I think we have better options for this position at the moment.

"My relationship with Lee is fine."
