Hi trainers! We all know that Pokémon: Let's go, Pikachu and Bishop! brings things back to the base of the franchise, and one of the most effective ways to do this is to have only the original 151 Pokémon in the game, rather than integrating all existing Pokémon present. A previously unknown Pokémon, available in Pokémon: Let's Go, was created to promote the connectivity of the new game with the latest initiative in the world of Pokémon.
Meltan had already been seen as a strange promotion at the end of September's Pokémon GO Community Day. It was then officially announced as a new joint discovery by Professors Oak and Willow. Meltan is not only officially the 808th Pokémon, but also the first mythical Pokémon capable of evolving, making it its huge evolution, Melmetal, the 809th Pokémon.
To start
Fortunately, Game Freak made the acquisition of Meltan quite easy, even if you can not say as much about its evolution, Melmetal – but I'll come back to it a little later. All you need to get your hands on a Meltan are two things: 1) a Pokémon GO account, and 2) to get to Fuschia City in Let's Go (which gives you access to GO Park) . Connecting your Pokemon Go account to Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee is simple and can be done at any time, whether you are visiting Fuchsia City or not. However, features will be limited until you can access GO Park.
From GO to Let's Go!
Start by starting Pokémon GO, go to the settings, scroll down the bottom of the options and select Nintendo Switch. So chosen Connect to the Nintendo switch.
Now open your settings in Pokemon: Let's go and select Open Pokémon GO settings. To select Yes to start pairing with your Pokémon GO account. After confirming the pairing, you'll be ready to use GO Park in Fuchsia City!
Once you enter GO Park's main gate, go to the gentleman behind the counter on the left and talk to him. The first thing to do is to select Bring Pokemon, then choose one of your GO parks where to import Pokemon, then select Start the communication.
Back in Pokémon GO, go to your Pokémon collection and, if you paired your account, a Commuter icon appears at the top right of the screen. By tapping the Change icon will only show Pokémon that can be transferred into Let's Go and allow you to select up to 50 Pokémon to be transferred at a time. Be aware however that when you transfer a Pokémon out of GO, it can not be brought back. they will be stuck in Let's Go.
Transfer and evolve
At the time of the transfer, you will receive an experience bonus in Pokémon GO (as well as a sweet for each Pokémon you have sent) and a screen containing a mystery box will welcome you. At this point, you can access your basket of items in Pokémon GO and select the Mystery box for use. The mystery box acts like an incense, surrounding your trainer with silver fog swirls and lasts half an hour. Unlike incense, however, only one type of Pokémon will be attracted to you: Meltan.
Catching Meltan is as simple as catching another Pokémon in Pokémon GO, although I suggest using these Pinap bays to double the candies you will collect to capture them, as Meltan's evolution will require 400 huge Meltan candies.
In the half hour my Mystery Box was active, I met and caught nine Meltan. One problem that I did not expect after the past half hour is that the Mystery Box can only be used once every seven days, regardless of the number of Pokémon I've had. transferred to Let's Go. This means that even if you use a Pinap Berry on every Meltan you capture, it will take you nearly two months to accumulate enough candy to turn Meltan into Melmetal – so get ready for a perfect grind.
During this time, all Pokémon that you have transferred to GO Park will be happy to visit and / or capture them in the park of your choice. If you bring 25 identical species to a park, you can play a game where you can win candies. Capturing these Pokémon will allow you to use them in Let's Go as you would with any other player you catch. It's also a great way to fill up your Pokédex to get that glamorous Charm, if exploring and hounding them does not interest you.
Meltan and Melmetal can also be imported from GO, making it the only Pokémon other than Kanto available for use in Let's Go.
Another disadvantage of Melmetal in Let's Go is that Meltan can only evolve in Pokémon GO (with the 400 candies mentioned above), and transferring it to Let's Go will essentially keep it from going back to GO. To have a Melmetal in every game, you really have to grind to get those candies.
