Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku revealed his anger after the fall of Jose Mourinho.
Lukaku was among the replacements for the Premier League clash with the former Everton club last month and was also cleared for the Manchester derby on Nov. 11 after his injury return.
The Belgian international was absent from the starting lineup again against the Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday and revealed his surprise of being left out.
"I was like, oh wow, s ***, it happened," said Lukaku, who has not scored since September, at Bleacher Report on his initial omission against Everton.
"But in reality, I had a conversation with the coach about it and I said," Look, it's been a long year and also with the World Cup, I felt a little tired. "
"He saw it, he made his decision.
"He said that I did not look happy, that I was angry, and I said," Good God yeah, I am angry. Do you think I should smile? "
"Then we talked a little bit, and then we moved on.
"It was just 10 minutes, and then, from that moment, something inside me opened, like a new fire to fetch what belongs to me.

Lukaku however added that he was one of Mourinho's "favorites" in the United States team.
"[It’s] because I would cross a brick wall for him. And he knows it, "he added.
"It's the kind of coach where he would be honest with you and tell you how it's going, if you can not handle it, it's a big problem."
