Hugh Jackman revealed that he knew that his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, was "that one" very early in their relationship, even though she had tried to break up with him.
The Australian actor and his wife, aged 22, made a joint interview with the Australians in Hollywood with Jenny Cooney podcast where they talked about their first meeting on the TV show set Correlli in 1995.
Furness said that she was not ready for a serious relationship when she first met Jackman, remembering: "I had just taken my New Year's resolution, I said: "I do not attend any actor and I am certainly not under the age of 30. I then meet my husband."
Jackman confessed: "I knew it early, I knew it before Deb, even when she was trying to break up with me, I knew [she was the one].
"She kind of [broke up with me], a little bit. Three weeks earlier, I managed to dissuade him, thank goodness.
"I'm a very indecisive person, Deb knows very well about me, I can count on me to see how many times in my life, something seems so clear, and when that happens, it's just that. is such a relief for me. "
"I knew 100%, I even knew when she was trying to find reasons to break up with me," he added.
The 50-year-old actor said Furness and he had an "amazing" chemistry acting one in front of the other.
"The best experience of my life with another actor [was with Furness], "he says. It was before we were romantically involved or had any idea that Deborra was interested.
"There was a chemistry … and every time we had a scene together, it was amazing, professionally I never had anything like it."
Just eleven months after the first meeting between Jackman and Furness, they tied on April 11, 1996.
The couple has two adopted children, Oscar, his 18-year-old son, and his 13-year-old daughter Ava.
