Dr. Sara Waters from Washington State University concluded that it was best to let children become comfortable with a healthy conflict.

She added, "They are good at picking up the signals of emotion.

"If they feel that something bad has happened and that parents are acting normally, it sends conflicting messages. Let them see the whole trajectory.

"It helps kids learn to regulate their own emotions and solve their problems.

"It's better to let them know that you're feeling angry."
