Nemours, of Jacksonville, with more than 90 locations in six states, will host pediatric hospitalists. Neonatologists – specializing in the care of critically ill infants, children and adolescents – at the Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, according to a statement released Tuesday by the two hospital systems.

Nemours is also exploring the possibility of expanding outpatient pediatric services to the Treasure Coast.

Nemours is one of the first pediatric health systems in the country. She opened the Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando in 2012 and, in less than six years, she was twice named "Top Children's Hospital" by the Leapfrog Group, which measures quality and safety health care.

Martin Health System operates two hospitals in Stuart, one in Port St. Lucie West and one outpatient pediatric ward at Stuart, Jensen Beach and St. Lucie West, which have been recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics as being centered on the patient.
