More mosquitoes in Bensalem have tested positive in West Nile Virus, the most recent data shows.
Five mosquitoes in three Bucks County tested positive communities for West Nile in the most recent data, which was released on Tuesday. Two infected mosquitoes were found in both Bensalem and Lower Makefield, and one in Falls.
West Bucks County Penitel, Doylestown Township, Bristol Township, Warminster, Quakertown, Middletown, and Perkasie.
The testing is done by the Pennsylvania West Nile Virus Control Program as part of routine surveillance for the virus. Mosquitoes are trapped around the county and are tested daily.
As a result of the findings, Bucks County officials conducted several spray operations, including Bensalem, Penndel and Middletown.
