Gary Neville thinks it's "too early" to name Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as permanent manager of Manchester United.

Solskjaer was appointed interim United by Josef Mourinho in December.

The Norwegian has recorded nine wins in his first ten games, including the most recent, a 1-0 win against Leicester. Alexis Sanchez was sh * te.

But Neville thinks that if his former teammate has increased his chances of landing the full-time job, there is still much to be done.

Asked whether Solskjaer should now be in this position permanently, Neville told Sky Sports: "No. I think it's way too early.

"If you ever said, when he got the job, what the odds were in percentage, I would have probably said 25%.

"He had an incredible race. He has a much higher odds now – maybe 50 or 60% – but Chelsea is missing in the England Cup, PSG in the Champions League, in Liverpool, today against Leicester. A huge challenge will come in the next five or six weeks and I think the end of March or the beginning of April is a good time to evaluate all of Ole's work.

"He raised the club on and off the pitch. It was an incredible turnaround, which shows how badly the players felt before. I never realized how bad the players' mood might have been since.

"Some players, under Mourinho, played the best I've seen, like Lindelof and Lingard, for example. But you have seen what has happened since. Is it the reality of what these players can achieve or are we seeing a boost? I think the answer is somewhere in between but we'll see.

"If they beat Chelsea, beat PSG, beat Liverpool, Solskjaer is quite in the pack and you say," How can you not give it to him? ".

"The club named two big names with the last two appointments and it did not work.

"The idea that Ole goes through this series of matches and comes out well, you can not stay here and see another manager, but I think Ole himself will think," Let's do in February and March and if I do what I do now, I will have asked for it. "At this moment, he claims a claim, but he knows that huge challenges are ahead.

"The work that Ole is doing is exactly what the club asked him to do: make the club happy again on and off the pitch.

"However, is he the man who will win them in the Champions League and Premier League? If the answer to this question is yes, then they should give it work. "
