Renewing your Irish passport is going to be a lot easier and cheaper from now

Good news!

The Irish Pbadport Office has launched a new pbadport application system that should make the process faster and less expensive.

The new measures are an extension of the development of last year, allowing people over 18 to renew their pbadports online. The installation has been expanded so that children can enjoy it.

In order to renew a child's pbadport online, parents will need an identity and consent form for the child's pbadport, which will need to be printed and attested at the end of the process.

Similarly, the process now costs 5 euros cheaper. Adults who wish to renew their pbadport online need a "digital photo" in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which you can find here.

A standard adult pbadport online is 75 €, while the pbadport of a child is 20 €. According to the FDFA website, the processing time for online pbadport applications is currently eight days (excluding shipping costs).

However, it should be noted that the pbadport renewal service has been out of service since 23 November for planned maintenance work, as it is expected that the service will be online again tomorrow (29 November).

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Irish pbadport was the sixth best in the world in terms of visa-free or visa-in-time travel for 185 destinations worldwide.
