Bodyguard Actor Richard Madden spoke of fervent speculation that he could become the next James Bond, stating that he is "more than flattered".
The actor, known to have played Robb Stark in Game of Thrones before playing in the BBC Bodyguard's hit drama, attempted to downplay the 007 rumors, but did not completely crush them.
He said GQ magazine on the post-Bodyguard James Bond rumor: "That's what's happening with all these series, like Tom Hiddleston in The Night Manager, then there's the next one, I'm next.
"Everyone loves rumors on this subject, I'm only the current one, there will be something different next week."
However, the 32-year-old Scottish star admitted that it was "charming" to be linked to the iconic role, currently inhabited by Daniel Craig.
"I am more than flattered to be mentioned, that people are considering entrusting me with this role," he said. "I'm very flattered and grateful, it's a really brilliant thing."
Madden seemed to fuel speculation that he would jump at the opportunity to play Bond when he continued, "I do not want to curse anything by saying anything.
"I think it's the curse of that, if you talk about it, you'll curse it."

When asked when he was a Bond fan, Madden said: "I love movies. I've read all the books."
Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan recently said that it was "cool" to be one of the supposed stars to become the next James Bond.
