Robbie Keane is the record scorer of the Republic of Ireland

Robbie Keane announced his retirement from football after being appointed badistant coach by Mick McCarthy on the national team of the Republic of Ireland.

The 38-year-old started his career with the Wolves in 1997 and played for 11 clubs including Tottenham, Liverpool, Leeds and LA Galaxy.

The striker scored 325 goals in 737 appearances in the club and 68 times for Ireland, making him the country's scorer.
