Maurizio Sarri published a pbadionate defense of his Chelsea record – unearthing Arsenal.

Sarri has faced intense criticism over the past few weeks as Chelsea was embarking on a bad spell.

The Blues have slipped to sixth in the Premier League, but have reached the last 16 games of the Europa League on Thursday and are preparing for the final of the Sunday League Cup.

It was reported earlier in the week that the Italian was still the victim of the Stamford Bridge dismissal, but he does not understand why people believe that the Arsenal campaign was "impressive" in comparison.

Does anyone really think that?

"To be honest, I'm not interested," he told Sky Sport Italia about speculation about his future the victory over Malmo.

"I have to consider my work as a major problem, otherwise I would do my job. So I continue on my way and nothing has changed in my case.

"I continue to hear people praising Arsenal's season, but they are not part of the Cup final, they have fewer points than we in the Premier League and have reached the last 16 in the league. Europa, just like us.

"I do not understand why people act as if our season was so negative and Arsenal is impressive."

I do not understand why you think 50 points, it's less than 50 points.

"It's true that there have been a lot of ups and downs, including very deep lows, but since this is my first season in a new league and in a new environment, I think it's acceptable.

"I took over a team that finished fifth with 70 points."
