The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a new recall regarding bottled water due to the high concentration of arsenic.

According to the statement posted on the FSAI website, the presence of arsenic has been detected above the legal limit in several branded and sparkling waters.

The products in question include:

  • Aldi / Comeragh (quiet and sparkling)
  • Applegreen (Still), Broderick (Still)
  • Dunnes Stores (quiet and sparkling and flavored)
  • Itica (again)
  • Lidl (again)
  • Londis (again)
  • Mbad (again)
  • Macari (again)
  • Plane (immobile)
  • San Marino (immobile)
  • Spar (again)

Retailers were asked to remove the affected lots from the sale and post a recall notice at the point of sale in the stores.

The FSAI advises consumers not to drink the quantities of water concerned and those who have felt uncomfortable contacting their GP.

Last month, two types of bottled water from the Spar and Londis chain stores were taken off the market due to higher than normal arsenic levels.
