Take That canceled his world tour project for his 30th anniversary tour after a member of Gary Barlow's family became ill.
The trio had wanted to make an international arena tour starting in April, including Australia and South America, but the band will now remain in Europe so that Barlow can be closer to home.
Barlow, 47, told the Daily Mirror: "We had a great ambition to go around the world next year, but I have an illness in my family and that means I will not travel much during next two years.
"So all the plans for South America and Australia that came to fruition …
"I thank my two group companions who have been very understanding, but I just have to be at home, I can not leave.
"I did not want people to be frustrated at not being here, I'm a little stuck for now, so please, be understanding."
Barlow will spend time next year writing a film with Sir Tim Rice.
The announcement of the cancellation comes shortly after the announcement by Robbie Williams of his intention to join his former group mates, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, during his tour.
Williams, 44, also hoped to find Jason Orange with them four.
He told Magic Radio: "As long as we stay healthy, I'm sure there will be another time we get together, maybe we can convince Jason to come back, who knows?"
"We will have to see, but certainly, certainly in the future, we will all ride again next year, when the boys will be on tour, I will be too."
