Cambridgeshire drivers received a strange reason to run late after giant Inflatable Santa blocked the traffic.

Santa Claus escaped his moorings and crossed the B198 Cromwell Road in Wisbech, blocking it in both directions from 1:30 pm Tuesday.

Footage filmed by taxi driver, Muhammad Fareed, show Santa Claus at the training at the origin of the blocking of the network.

The inflatable boat was not overtaken until around 5 pm, 3.5 hours later, according to Cambridgeshire Live's traffic records.

Mr. Fareed of Peterborough told the BBC that the giant Santa Claus had escaped from the garden of a house on Cromwell Road.

"I saw it oscillate and then go back down the road. It made you smile, "he said. "It was huge, bigger than my seven-seater car."

"It was one of the most unusual reasons for being stuck in traffic."
