PUNTERS has opened the weekend with style by arriving at the Grand National of Aintree for a weekend of betting and alcoholic beverages.
Party-goers throw themselves into the festive spirit, party-goers opening the door, despite the rainy weather.
We photographed a woman literally dancing in the rain, while others were seen in a very good mood, laughing with friends and kissing the waterproof ponchos.
Others posed with their worn umbrellas, while many guests were spotted hanging down with a glbad of champagne.
Despite the bad weather that prevailed earlier in the day, party-goers were dressed to impress, their guests wearing vertiginous heels, huge hats and colorful sets.
This year, the event starts today and ends on Saturday, April 6th.
Although this is one of the most important events in the race calendar, it is also the perfect opportunity to win the best of style, with Aintree offering a "Style Award" for the best dressed.
According to the website, the Aintree Women's Day Style Code – to be held tomorrow – is inspired by Coco Chanel's quote: "Dress in tiny and remember the dress; you impeccably and remember the woman. "
Encouraging participants to "dress up to impress and show off their personality", the Style Award is aimed at male and female visitors.
The lucky winner will win a Range Rover Evoque and a stock of Chi Chi London 's one – year dresses.
ITV Racing stylist Sarah Kate Byrne, Liverpool Guide Jay Hynd and a representative from Chi Chi London will judge the award.
And party-goers have been dressed to impress so far, with branded heels, huge hats and a selection of daring dresses.
From a woman wearing a Big Ben tattoo to a retro-inspired red dress, women dolls already permeate the party spirit.
