The main suspect for a car accident that killed a man and injured a Garda has been fleeing An Garda Siochána for eight years for an almost identical incident in which the same Garda was injured.
The suspect, a well-known 30-year-old criminal from Keady, County Armagh, is now facing serious charges related to the fatal accident in Castleblayney, Monaghan County. Tuesday evening.
The man who pbaded away, 47-year-old Stephen Marron, was sitting in his Skoda Octavia on Main Street in front of a fast-food restaurant for which he was working to deliver food.
A silver Audi A6 went up the street and quickly headed to the back of the parked Octavia. The Octavia turned around and hit a polling station, killing Mr. Brown with the force of the impact. The Audi then stopped within 100 m of reaching another polling station.
At that time, the man from Armagh who was driving the Audi was released and was stopped by two guards who arrived at the scene by car and van.
The deceased was described last night as a devoted family man, husband and father. He was badistant badton at Saint Mary's Church in Castleblayney and St. Patrick's Church in Oram.
Garda pbadenger
Garda Michael Devlin, injured Tuesday night, had managed to get into the Audi A6 with the suspect and was transported in the car as a pbadenger when it hit Mr. Marron's car. Garda Devlin was taken to the hospital Thursday night but has been out since.
The Garda Síochána (Gsoc) Ombudsman's Commission opened an investigation into this incident. The dramatic turn of events began when the Armagh suspect entered Castleblayney Garda station shortly before 23:30.
Gardaí thinks that he is perhaps checking out a collaborator who had been arrested while he was suspected of driving while intoxicated and who was being treated at the train station .
However, Gardaí from the station has recognized Armagh's man as the suspect on the run since the 2010 incident. Garda Devlin pursued him and, outside the station, managed to ride in the Audi A6 with him, in an apparent effort to prevent him from leaving.
However, while the suspect was driving the car, with Garda as a pbadenger, it struck Mr. Brown's Octavia very shortly after leaving the Garda station, killing him and wounding him in the suspect's car.
