The trailer was launched for the Disney movie, Artemis Fowl, starring two teenage Irish teens, Kilkenny teenager, Ferdia Shaw, and Lara McDonnell, of Dublin.
The fantastic books of the Irish writer Eoin Colfer were adapted to the big screen and 1,200 boys hoped to have the coveted part of the young criminal brain. McDonnell plays captain Holly Short, hero of the elves.
The adaptation of the film's screenplay was written by Irish playwright Conor McPherson.
The live adaptation will support the first and second installments of Colfer's best-selling children's series. The author of Wexford had previously stated that he would like Saoirse Ronan to play one of the leading roles in large-screen adaptation.
The Artemis Fowl series has over 21 million copies printed in 44 languages worldwide. It is centered on Artemis, 12 years old, millionaire, genius and criminal.
The other actors in the film directed by Kenneth Branagh are Josh Gad, Judi Dench and Nonso Anozie from Games of Thrones.
The film should be released at the cinema on August 9, 2019.
