An American company that provides a range of outsourcing functions and technologies for the insurance and financial services sectors will create 250 jobs in Dublin.

Sedgwick intends to fill the positions over the next two years.

Headquartered in Tennessee, Sedgwick provides business and technology services, including claims management and loss adjustment, to other businesses.

It already employs 400 people here in seven offices in Dublin, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Waterford.

But now, in response to the successful growth of its existing Irish operations, the company plans to hire an additional 250 employees in Dublin over the next two years to expand its international service center.

He also expects an increase in new business following Brexit and intends to direct some of his global business from Ireland.

The new staff will occupy various positions including customer service, sales, corporate finance, compliance, technology and roles related to specific areas of insurance.

Vacancies will be filled over the next two years and recruitment will begin immediately.

The expansion will be partially driven by a major new contract that the company has signed with Irish Life Health.
