The winner of Ireland 2009, Tommy Walsh, is once again involved in Kerry footballers.
The 30-year-old left Kerry's team after the league in 2016, frustrated by his lack of playing time as a marginal player in Eamonn Fitzmaurice's group.
20 months earlier, only three weeks after Kerry's win in All-Ireland 2014, Walsh had returned home after five years in the AFL.
Addressing Radio Kerry, Walsh's club manager, Micheál Quirke, said the Kerin's player, O. Rahillys, had been nominated by Kerry's new manager, Peter Keane.
"To be honest, I'm not sure about the situation with Tommy," said Quirke.
He went and did some of the things of conditioning. I guess it's on the panel or something else. I do not know exactly what his current status is.
Tommy is up in Cork. To protect him during the week, we will not do him a training.
If his body is capable – and I think it could once it would be handled properly – I think the guy really has things that he can contribute to Kerry.
If it's in it, it's something for which it will be well able.
Walsh being involved in Kerry football, he is once again performing well for his club in Kerry SFC.
