The company that provided 500 holiday pavilions at the Center Parcs Resort, worth 233 million euros, has the capacity to deliver three times more houses built quickly in Ireland the year. next.

FastHouse builds prefabricated permanent buildings in a factory, ready to be erected on site. He is part of the group of companies of Kevin Lagan and has just finalized a contract for the construction of nearly 500 pavilions in the first Center Parcs of Ireland in nine months.

The company, based in Limavady, Co Derry, built to order. Center Parcs was installed three times a day. It includes 10 different types of housing, ranging in size from 865 m² to 2,045 m² – the equivalent of two to four bedroom units. Sisk is the main contractor on the site.

Sean Fox, of FastHouse, said the fast-build model could be deployed more broadly in the housing market, currently constrained by the dangerous under-supply of new homes.

"Rapid construction, which involves tailor-made precision work in the factory and less time and cost on site, can make a huge contribution to the needs of the residential market," he said.

The new investment in the Limavady plant, estimated at around € 20 million, means FastHouse will be able to supply 1,500 units a year with significantly lower costs and reduced construction time, the company added.

Center Parcs is expected to open next summer. This is the largest FastHouse project to date.

Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy said the so-called fast-delivery homes – a factory built and badembled on site – would be a central part of his plan to deliver 47,000 social housing units over five years, but progress has been made. have been slow so far.
