Winx wins George Ryder Stakes for the fourth time

The legend is almost over, but the winning race continues quickly. Winx continued its efforts in immortality with a superb 32nd consecutive win in the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill.
The champion mare was placed behind the group of eight horses while Dreamforce stared at the first fractions, with Hugh Bowman in the widest order as the pack approached the turn for the house.
Still in this broad pbadage, Bowman left the chains at the mark of 300 meters and Winx responded generously, standing out from his rivals under the hands and heels, scoring in three and a half lengths ahead of Brutal, who put the light of the day between him and Dreamforce. back in third.
In a career that continues to re-write records, Winx became the first horse to win four Cox plates, four Chipping Norton Stakes and now four George Ryder Stakes, two consecutive years.
It was an emphatic statement on his last outing on his local circuit, setting off a touching swan song in group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick on April 13th.
Peter Tighe, a euphoric, co-owner of Winx, praised the great mare, who recorded her 24th win at Group 1.

"We do not want to go crazy because we're going to have to come back to reality one day, but we love every moment like everyone else.
"As long as she's doing well and everything goes well tonight, we'll be back in three weeks to finish her career with hope on a winning note.
"She's everyone's favorite and I'm so proud."
For Winx coach Chris Waller, the result was the usual combination of relief, excitement and fear.
He said: "Hughie arrived with some arrogance, as we have seen and as he is entitled to do. Everyone obviously expects her to win, that's one of the reasons she does it.
"I tell all the other jockey not to be three widths, but with her, we must be three widths to not have problems.
"He's a very special horse. I'm sure she knows what's going on. It's a wonderful horse with whom to work and we owe him to be in this position. "
Winx's victory was the second step in a remarkable Waller Group 1 hat-trick, with The Autumn Sun and Nature Strip recording elite victories on both sides of George Ryder's success.
After the race, a jubilant Bowman exudes her usual clbad by parading the seven-year-old girl in front of her adoring fans, ensuring that anyone who made the pilgrimage to Rosehill for a last glimpse of the superstar could leave satisfied notion that they had done just that.
The jockey was happy to let the Street Cry girl find her rhythm at the very beginning, before enjoying a delay in approaching the turn at home.
Bowman said, "The pace was pretty good at first. I moved to the back of the field, as it often does, and when they slowed down in the middle, I stayed off the field, because conditions here, this afternoon, are quite macerated, which is why The pace is stable and I have just approached a little closer.
"Obviously, I was more badertive with her on the last 300 meters than I would have been here early in the morning, but for her it was very comfortable.
