Hyundai Kona is updated with a new 1.6 diesel

A new 1.6-cylinder diesel engine makes its debut on Hyundai Kona. The unit is part of the new series called Smart Stream. This new diesel is added to the gasoline lineup which includes the 1.0 T-Gdi 1.0 kW (88 kW) with a six-speed manual transmission and the 1.6 T-Gdi 177 horsepower (130 kW ) with automatic transmission and all wheel drive.

In the test, we found ourselves in front of a comfortable car that changes character decisively according to the driving style: eco, comfort and sport.

The new 1.6-liter, 136-horsepower diesel engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, a little noisy and low revs, lacks sprints, characteristic of Euro 6d-temp engines.

The best situation in sport mode but it's still a quiet car for the city or outdoor outings, a feature emphasized by the good liveability on board. With the new engine, prices start at 20,500 euros and exceed 31,000 euros for the high-end version.
