LG G7 ThinQ
With the G7, LG is trying to regain ground in the smartphone sector by focusing primarily on build quality, performance and reliability. ; display. G7 ThinQ "src =" http://www.tomshw.it/images/icone/ckeditor-img-placeholder.png "/>
LG G7 ThinQ is a bit like the emblem of the situation of the South Korean company in the smartphone market. A device that touches the excellence in some areas, but is still a few steps The high-end segment remains a bidirectional deal between Apple and Samsung, with Huawei which, thanks to the P20 Pro, seems e fill the gap in this segment. In short, it's really hard to separate the space between high-end devices.
A higher list price would probably have helped the G7 in this task. LG has decided to place it at 849 euros important figure, partly adapted to the hardware platform made available by the smartphone, but certainly not very appropriate in the logic of having to reconquer the ground compared to competitors. As we will see in the review, the device convinces, but there is still something missing to achieve excellence.
Construction and Ergonomics
The South Korean company has done an excellent job with the G7. On the front, the screen is protected by a glbad Gorilla Glbad 5 and the back cover is made of glbad (always Gorilla Glbad 5), with a double curvature that ends perfectly close to the metal frame . The aspect ratio in 19.5: 9 makes the body grow in length rather than width, improving ergonomics.
Despite the use of glbad for the front and back, the G7 is not particularly slippery. The thickness of the dual rear camera is virtually imperceptible, and it helps to not feel the need for a cover. Also, the device can count on the IP68 certification and on the MIL-STD 810G military standard for falls and vibrations.

The physical buttons (volume, ignition and key dedicated to Google Assitant) are perfectly feasible, as well as the biometric sensor on the back cover. The chromatic variant of our magazine, called New Moroccan Blue, is really successful, with the back part giving different visual effects depending on how it is struck by the light.
There is a lot of controversy located in a front part with reduced frames. These, even if risky, are sufficient to avoid the keys involutar on the display. It's not utopian to think of using it with one hand despite the 6.1-inch screen. In this sense, the weight of 162 grams with the thickness of 7.9 mm, so not too low, makes it comfortable to carry with you in everyday life. In general, a smartphone that feels very high level feel to the touch.
Screen and Audio
The front is dominated by a 6.1-inch IPS LCD characterized by a QHD + resolution (1440 x 3120 pixels). It's an excellent panel, capable of even reaching 1,000 nits of brightness thanks to a technology that LG calls Super Bright Display, and that starts automatically when environmental conditions demand it.
comes a display that can be displayed perfectly even on the outside. A panel which, by the way, also offers excellent viewing angles and an absolutely convincing color rendering. The Always-on function is also supported (to display information on the screen when the smartphone is idle), HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. In summary, a true high-end screen
Different speeches for the audio part. This G9 ThinQ can count on a mono speaker positioned on the lower side and badisted by a proprietary technology called Boombox. Practically, LG has decided to create inside the body a real sound box, which further boosts the volume when the device is placed on a plane.
This is an ingenious solution on paper, but in practice it does not always convince. The volume is certainly above average, but in some cases brings some distortion. In addition, the vibrations produced by this Boombox technology can be annoying in some areas, and in general, I expected more audio quality.
High level experience in calling through the capsule (integrated in the notch), as well as receiving. Connectivity is definitely complete: Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi ac dual band, NFC, A-GLONASS BDS GPS, FM radio, LTE connectivity up to 1.2 Gbps.
Performance and Autonomy
There is not much to say about the performance of a smartphone based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable via micro-SD). LG G7 ThinQ is actually fluid and vivid in almost any condition, even when under stressful use as may be the gaming sessions.

Personally, I have tested a high end smartphone of a slightly more eye-catching range (like the Mi Mix 2S or the OnePlus 6), but these are really trifles. However, LG played cautiously, choosing an extremely reliable hardware platform that features virtually most of the best smartphones of 2018.
Regarding autonomy, the l & # 39; South Korean company could I could do something more. It has indeed integrated a battery of 3000 mAh, a little thin considering the power of this G7 ThinQ and the high resolution of the screen. In fact, you can easily cover the day touching the 4-hour display lit up with my use (mixed between LTE and Wi-Fi, 2 push email accounts, hundreds of social network notifications and instant messaging applications, approximately 1 hour of phone calls.)
LG has therefore done an excellent job of optimizing the consumption and this G7 ThinQ could potentially have autonomy first level with a more spacious battery. As already mentioned, small details that would allow the device to really touch the excellence.
