Google Maps introduces the function for motorcyclists

Google Maps for motorcycles is now available in much of East Asia, according to RideApart. After the first tests in India, Google Maps has set up the option to choose motorcycle transport in Indonesia, Malaysia Myanmar, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.

The application function of the Google Motorcycle GPS includes roads and routes not accessible to cars and trucks. When a user chooses a two-wheeled vehicle as a means of transportation, the software only looks for shortcuts for motorcycles, to provide estimates of traffic on two wheels and the time it takes to arrive.

Enjoying narrow lanes and pbadages in small and large cities could help cyclists avoid congestion traffic en route. Anticipating roads that prohibit motorcycle traffic can also save the aggravation of traveling quickly. Due to an emergency, it often happens that you have to take your vehicle in a hurry, without seeing the fastest route without incurring infractions.

Speaking at a event Launching Google Maps for motorcycles in Thailand, Google Maps manager Krish Vitaldevara said that software often uses benchmarks such as hospitals and hotels rather than street names that are harder to find and read. The goal of Google is to train drivers to read the directions before going out and look for the landmarks rather than looking at their smartphone while traveling in a very busy cluttered

There is no mystery about why Google launched the motorcycle version in India then in other parts of Asia from the East: the company simply follows the market. India is the largest motorized two-wheelers market in the world, according to The Times of India

At a time when motorcycle sales are lagging behind in the United States, sales in India have increased significantly in 2017, partly as a result of public spending on major rural road construction projects. With regard to Italy however, nothing has yet been declared about the arrival of the update in question. However, a possible launch in our country can not be ruled out.
