Spotify tests an official app for Apple Watch.
Some Reddit users participating in Spotify's public beta test program shared screenshots of the app's icon, playback controls, and the recently read list with a mode selector random.
The beta testers of the Spotify app for iOS have started accessing the app and the first version seems to be limited to controlling playback of songs. It seems that the application has not yet been optimized for Apple Watch Series 4 40mm and 44mm models.

It is still unclear whether Spotify intends to add the feature for offline use so that Premium subscribers can synchronize music tracks with the iPhone and use them even without the device to proximity.

Spotify worked closely with snowy, the unofficial app that allowed Spotify to be read offline on Apple Watch.
The developer of Snowy, Andrew Chang, revealed last year that Spotify had hired to create a companion app using the company 's iOS SDK. This test could be the result of this work.
