The British company Micro Focus International just announced the sale of SUSE the subsidiary that developed the well-known open source software SUSE Linux which, to date, is widely used in the field of business, competing with Red Hat and other SOs (free operating systems). The buyer is EQT Partners a Swedish fund that closed trading at 2.5 billion dollars .
Micro Focus reported a successful sale of SUSE. In 2014, he bought the US company The Attachmate Group, former owner of SUSE, for $ 2.35 billion. Today, he only sells SUSE for a higher value.
On the other hand, EQT Partners is also pleased with the purchase of SUSE. He announced that he wanted to make the company an independent company and strengthen his products by supporting them with qualified developers and engineers
Regarding OpenSUSE EQT Partners wanted to rebadure users that would remain unchanged support for open source software . This will be followed by the commercial model developed by SUSE over the years, a free version, specifically OpenSUSE, framed by the company's flagship software, namely SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and SUSE Linux Business Office (SLED).
