VLC puts Huawei in the blacklist, no application on some models

Several users have complained about the poor audio quality of VLC on some of Huawei's latest smartphones and VideoLAN has blocked its download from Google Play Store the fault of the Chinese company who ended up in the developer's blacklist. This is essentially what happened in recent hours

The reason for the dispute would be the management mode of application in the background of some Huawei smartphones, on Twitter considered outright "ridiculous" by systematically closing all the app. From what has been reported so far unofficially, the Huawei smartphones involved would be the P8, P10 and P20 models, but there could be others

All smartphone manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to maximize the durability of the battery on their devices, but the aggressive solution adopted recently by Huawei is precisely to close all possible applications in the background, including obviously VLC, which must continue to operate in the background to be able to read audio while they are used other applications

At the present time, there was no official comment from Huawei on what could however be a problem easily solved with a software update. However, blacklisted smartphone users can, if they wish, download VLC simply by visiting the official VideoLAN page and downloading the APK.
