ROME – Thanks to the technique of "masking" cars tested with printed films with flashy graphics intended to deceive the view of the details of the body, car manufacturers are increasingly using "covered" presentations, in which a unpublished model can not yet be admired in its entirety but can still be perceived in the proportions, in the forms and in certain elements. That's what Volkswagen has done in preparation for the presentation – scheduled for the autumn – of the new T-Cross, the compact crossover ideal for the city, ready for small and big adventures in and out of the urban jungle. With this new model, Volkswagen is expanding its range of SUVs and crossovers with a new entry offer, and is leading five brand proposals (T-Cross, T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg) in Europe. T-Cross has – it is perceived under the stickers – a charismatic design, will be offered with only front wheel drive and is designed in the name of functionality and maximum customization. The slogan chosen for the launch, I'm more, reflects the philosophy behind the T-Cross: to offer more than others. Volkswagen explains in a note that the slogan that I am more brings together four forces of T-Cross: I'm practical – more space and versatility; I am cool – muscular design and maximum personalization; I am intuitive – digital and connected; I am safe – one of the safest cars on the market. The Volkswagen crossover, more compact, measures 4.107 mm long and 1.558 mm high, so a little larger than a Polo but also in the same segment B. While Golf and T-Roc belong to the C segment – explains Volkswagen – T-Cross and Polo share the lower segment B.

A segment in two types of independent cars

This variety makes the range of models and the greater mobility of the experiments. T-Cross is a crossover that is both practical and crossover-friendly, safe to drive and ready to tackle any course. Equipped with wheels up to 18 inches, it is driven only by turbo engines: the TSI gasoline engines are combined with a particle filter for Otto cycle engines and deliver a power of 115 hp and 150 hp. The Turbodiesel TDI unit instead develops a power of 95 hp.

T-Cross offers an amazing interior space, thanks to the Modular Cross Platform (MQB). This innovative base advances the front axle, thus increasing the wheelbase, the size of the badpit and the load volume, which is variable: as needed, the rear seat can be slid longitudinally Standard way to get more legroom or increase bootability (385 to 455 liters). The maximum load volume registers one of the best values in the segment. Greater flexibility is provided by the folding front pbadenger seat back. The position of the T-Cross seats is raised: the front reaches 597 mm, behind 652 mm; the elevated view was achieved by the greater height of the floor and the characteristics of the seats.
