Xiaomi is definitely not a company that stops "to think" month after month continues to produce new smartphones. Today we talk about Xiaomi Mi 6X which could become in the future the basis of a possible Xiaomi Mi A2 with Android One.

Construction and Ergonomics
Xiaomi Mi 6X does not offer a different design than other Xiaomi smartphones. It is made entirely of metal and in the hand is pleasant to the touch and convenient to use. It's not too slippery and the metal does not tend to hold too much fingerprints. The physical buttons on the right side are well depressed and the device, weighing only 168 grams, is light. Hardware
Xiaomi Mi 6X is a good average range from a material point of view. It has a Snapdragon 660 octa 2.2 GHz processor with Adreno 512 processor. Our version has 4GB but a 6GB variant is also available. The internal memory is 64 GB but is not expandable because the carriage is dedicated only to two nanoSIM. Discrete connectivity: LTE up to 600 Mbps, Wi-Fi ac dual band and Bluetooth 5.0. The speaker placed at the bottom has a volume and an average quality.
Unfortunately, the NFC chip and the audio jack are missing. A flaw in our opinion even more serious in a mid-range smartphone whose audience is much wider than a high-end.

Camera
The Xiaomi Mi 6X is equipped with a dual camera system of 16 + 20 megapixels. The second 20 megapixel sensor comes into play automatically when the light drops. Hard to understand the real benefits of using this sensor instead of the main, but we have some doubts about it (a bit like on OnePlus 5T). The second sensor is slightly wider in terms of field and can also be used for the blur effect of a foreground subject. The quality of the photos positively surprised us and enrolled widely in the guns of a mid-range smartphone. The photos are detailed, the focus is good and the color balance too. The interface is simple but clear, although some secondary features are a little hidden.
Results in videos where the balance of lights is not perfect, but where we have a pretty good electronic stabilization even in 4K. Not bad either the front camera 20 megapixel ƒ / 1.8, although the automatic HDR in this case does not seem too effective

Views
This device Xiaomi is equipped with a display of 5.99 inches in FullHD resolution + (2160 x 1080 pixels) in IPS technology. The color rendering is good even if the automatic brightness is often too low and requires a "setting" in the manual. In the settings we find three colors and three contrast settings, as well as the ability to enable double touch to wake up the screen.
Software
Mi 6X is obviously equipped with a software MIUI 9.5 in this case only in the Chinese version. It is however available for those who want to unlock the bootloader (procedure that requires nearly 8 days waiting for authorization) and install the Xiaomi.Eu forum firmware. Otherwise, you can still install the Play Store and convert third-party applications to Italian. In this case, however, at each reboot, you will need some taps to restore this option.
The software is very fluid and as usual the MIUI reserves a lot of very welcome surprises, even though lately have not seen good news in terms of features or graphics (something will come with the MIUI 10). We also have here the excellent navigation gesture, the one-handed mode (only by disabling the gesture), the themes, the ability to split some applications or divide the entire system to keep some of our life safely. 19659012] This version of MIUI is based on Android 8.1 with patches of May and is extremely fluid in all operations. There is also liberation with the face, even if it is not always very precise.
Autonomy
The battery of 3010 mAh is well behaved, bringing us almost always at the end of the day. Unfortunately, it happened that we had to give it a "shot" to reload at lunch time: not really optimal in some situations.

Xiaomi Mi 6X is a good Xiaomi smartphone. It is still not clear if and when there should be an international version. This is not very different from last year 's model, but all specifications are in the right place.
