JAMESTOWN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Johnny and Crystal Thompson are just one of many sharing their experiences and how Glasser Images’ brutal shutdown in Bismarck has affected them.

The Bismarck-based photography company faced more than 175 complaints after the business closed, leaving some clients with thousands of dollars in losses. In an email sent to customers, it was reported that refunds would not be issued.

“Due to the closure, if there is something paid for, we will not be able to issue any refunds. For this we cannot apologize enough, ”said an email.

Crystal says they tied the knot on Aug. 13 and hired the company to take care of the photography of their big day.

“We’ve had a few previews, but we haven’t received our full gallery,” she said. “We had eight hours of photography. We were able to contact our individual photographers, but they don’t have backups of our photos and said they gave their SD cards to the studio.

With Glasser Images closed, they no longer have the ability to get their wedding day photos.

“At this point, we don’t even care what we paid. We just want our images and we have no way of knowing what to do next or who to contact. Seems like there are a lot of people rallying around for those who need to find new photographers, but not a lot of people on our side or giving advice to people who have already had their wedding or event and are not coming. not to get first images even, ”explained Crystal.

Crystal shared that she was no stranger to lost memories, detailing once where her parents’ house in Arizona had stolen everything, including her baby book and all of the family photos.

“I have almost nothing from my childhood,” she said. “I was able to get a photo here and there of family members. But no real photos to give to my children of our past memories. My parents’ photos are missing. The photos of my deceased grandparents are missing.

She added that she was devastated with no solution in sight.

“These are our memories,” she said. “No number of free or discounted photoshoots to redo that day will give us those feelings and the day back. “

Crystal said people are very generous to give, but they shouldn’t be giving their time to put a band-aid on the problem.

“He [Jack Glasser] has nothing to gain at this point and should hand over the photos and products that people have paid for which he is in possession of, ”she concluded.

The former company has since published an email stating the reason for the abrupt shutdown.

The past and current effects of the pandemic have caused irreparable damage which has forced this decision to happen extremely quickly and immediately, ”he said.

According to the US Small Business Administration, Glasser Images received a Paycheck Protection Program loan of $ 245,000 in April 2020 and another of $ 257,500 in January 2021 from Starion Bank to assist with payroll, services. public and rent. Glasser Images had over 60 listed employees and contractors before the website was taken down.
