The driver of this Jeep apparently climbed the hill and crossed the side of this house near South 15th Street and Southwest 17th Avenue on Saturday afternoon, totaling the vehicle and leaving extensive damage to the house.

The driver of a Jeep apparently climbed a hill and passed a house in Fort Dodge in the south of the city on Saturday afternoon.

The Jeep then descended the hill where it came to rest on its front end.

The driver, who has not been identified, then fled, according to Lt. Donald McClaren of the Fort Dodge Police Department.

The driver was arrested shortly after. Doctors were called to the scene to treat the driver. No other injuries were reported.

The accident was reported shortly after 2 p.m.

The house, located near South 15th Street and 17th Street Southwest, was significantly damaged in the crash. The Jeep is totaled.

According to McClaren, the driver was heading north before failing to negotiate the turn.

The Fort Dodge Police Department and the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded.

The incident is still under investigation.
