A 70-year-old woman was stung to death by a swarm of Bees in the village of Matangwe in Siaya County Wednesday night.
The bees that emerged from the bush caused a stir in the Matangwe Mall as people were getting secure while business stopped.

The deceased, Jane Anyango, was on a shopping mission when the incident occurred. His attempts at escape were futile because of his age.
According to the president of the Bondo Community Police Committee, Mr. Juma Abuko, the elderly grandmother struggled for her life while members of the public looked helplessly because no one could brave the swarm of Bees to save her.
During the agitation, witnesses say that the grandmother was knocked over by a vehicle that was also accelerating to escape the bees.
"When things calmed down, members of the public went to where she was lying by the side of the road to try to take her to the hospital after the bees flew away, but she was already dead, "said Abuko.
He said that they alerted the police who came to the scene and picked up the body at the morgue of the Bondo sub-county hospital.
