Archbishop of Canterbury insists on first name terms

T The Archbishop of Canterbury is the holder of one of the best-known titles in the world.

But the current incumbent does not see the need to use it – preferring instead to be addressed by his first name.

In an interview with the BBC, Justin Welby "insisted" that journalists call him Justin rather than using part of his official title, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury.

He made this request in an interview with the broadcaster's Ouch podcast, which covers disability.

The archbishop appeared alongside his two daughters Katharine, who has mental health problems, and Ellie, who has learning difficulties and dyspraxia.

While Katharine Welby, age 32, is often voiced about mental health in the past, the interview marked the first time that her sister Ellie, 24, spoke publicly about his handicap.

The Archbishop called on churches to give priority to disabled access to heritage.
