Closing date extended: nominations for the Africa Women & # 39; s Innovation & Entrepreneurship 2019 Awards

By CORRESPONDENT, LAGOS, Nigeria, May 17 – The deadline for nominations for the AWIEF 2019 African Women's Forum for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards has been extended to Monday, June 10, 2019.

This extension gives more women entrepreneurs the opportunity to participate in these prestigious multi-industry awards and to be recognized for their contribution to pan-African, social and economic programs.

Women entrepreneurs and business owners are invited to submit nominations in various categories, including youth, technology, agriculture and the empowerment of women in business.

AWIEF has partnered with Cape Town, Shell South Africa and the Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA-EU) to recognize and celebrate women for their pbadion and determination to make a difference in their countries and on the continent.

The award categories are as follows: Young Entrepreneur Award, Technology Entrepreneur Award, Social Entrepreneur Award, Global Brand Award, Agro-Entrepreneur Award, Award of the Entrepreneur # 39; empowerment, Creative Industry Award and Overall Achievement Award. The winners will be announced on October 30th.

Past winners are Lorna Rutto, founder of EcoPost; Wendy Luhabe, pioneer in the creation of WIPHOLD, WPEF and more recently WINDE; Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, founder of the global brand SoleRebels; Nomso Faith Kana, founder of Sun and Shield Technologies; among a host of others.

Nomination Guidelines:

  • Nominations should only cover the achievements of a woman entrepreneur and national (or permanent resident) of an African country, having a registered business and operating in one or more African countries.
  • Candidates may be appointed or self-appointed.
  • A female entrepreneur can be nominated for more than one category, but different nomination forms must be completed.
  • You may be asked to support or verify the evidence you provided as part of your appointments.
  • Three nominees will be selected for each category and invited to the AWIEF Awards Ceremony in October of the same year.
