Former Ethiopian President Girma Woldegiorgis died Saturday at two weeks of his 95th birthday, media reports said.
Girma was president of Ethiopia for twelve years between 2001 and 2013, an essentially ceremonial role.
The Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) and other state media have announced his death.
The cause of death has not been given.
Girma was fluent in Amharic, working language in Ethiopian, his oromo, his mother tongue, as well as English and French.
In recent years, Girma had been actively working for reconciliation between his former enemies, Ethiopia and Eritrea, who had declared an end to two decades of hostility in July.
