Li, 51, swallowed the toothbrush 20 years ago in prison.

A former prisoner who attempted to commit suicide 20 years ago by swallowing a toothbrush eventually removed him from his small intestine.

The toothbrush was almost unrecognizable and seemed to have completely blackened and the hairs were disinterpreted.
The ex-detainee, dubbed Li, went to the doctor after having abdominal pain and he was sent for a scanner in Shenzhen, China.
Stunned by their discovery, the doctors discovered the object lodged in his bile duct and asked how he got there.
They used an endoscope to extract the toothbrush from his intestines.
Li, 51, revealed that he had swallowed the toothbrush in his prison cell two decades ago in a failed suicide attempt.
He would have contracted HIV because of his drug use, which was too difficult for him at the time.
Surprisingly, the toothbrush has absolutely nothing and Li has performed the rest of his sentence.
He stopped taking drugs and started treatment for HIV. He was released from prison with the positive result.
Li is now married and has two children.
Local media reported that if the toothbrush had remained inside Li, there was a good chance that she had reached her liver and led to a deadly infection.
