“If my son is a murderer, why did she accept to live with a killer?”
Rosemeg Wambita, Quincy Timberlake’s mother, has spoken out after yesterday’s confession by Esther Arunga on her son’s murder case.
Arunga stated that she previously lied to police on how their son Sinclair Timberlake died in order to shield Timberlake from punishment but Wambita has strongly denied claims that her son is a killer.
“That is a lie. I don’t understand what she means since she is the one who said that their son did not die at the hands of her husband.
“Where was she all this time…It is a lie. I don’t understand it,” said Wambita.
She further added: “When it comes to death, people can change. In this case, I say no.
“If my son is a murderer, why did she accept to live with a killer?”
Timberlake is accused of killing their three-year-old son in 2014.
At the time, Arunga told emergency services that her son had fallen down the stairs but an autopsy report revealed that the boy died due to a severe blunt force such as punching or stamping.
Crown Prosecutor Danny Boyle said that Arunga stuck to her story for 26 days and only opened up when her husband was taken for mental evaluation.
She then said that on the fateful night, she found Timberlake hitting their son in the stomach and threw him against a wall.
“I was terrified of being alone and I felt terrible because my husband was sick as well,” said Arunga to police.
