A representative from Barnaul airport said the accident was due to a "hidden fault" on the steps, "impossible to detect".

The head of the Western Siberian Transport Prosecutor, Oksana Gorbunova, said inspectors were working at the airport to investigate what was wrong.

Six pbadengers boarding Ural Airlines in the Siberian city of Barnaul were injured on Tuesday morning when they fell on the tarmac after the collapse of the plane's steps.

According to airport officials, three of the six people were transported to the hospital after the nightmare of Airbus A320 and another would have had a broken leg.

"They all fell at the same time, it was like watching a computer game," said one pbadenger
