This launch marks the beginning of a new effort to bring about lasting change for Kenyan girls and women and advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The campaign brings together diverse stakeholders to accelerate national efforts to achieve gender equality. Its official launch in Nairobi brought together high-level government officials and civil society advocates to discuss how to change the discourse on girls and women – talking about them as powerful agents of change instead. as vulnerable people, bringing together unexpected partners working in different sectors and inspiring. action to help the country achieve the goals of sustainable development and become a nation of gender equality.

Following the global launch of the "Deliver for Good" campaign in 2016, Kenya has been identified as the first target country for advocacy and communication activities dedicated to the enhancement of existing activities in Kenya.

"Kenya's gender equality advocates are committed to working together to achieve our shared goals for girls and women," said Teresa Omondi-Adeitan, Executive Director of FIDA Kenya, the country's coordinating partner. the Kenyan countryside. "The Deliver for Good Kenya campaign creates a platform for collective mobilization around common goals that brings us closer to achieving gender equality and the SDGs."

More than 20 organizations have already joined the campaign in Kenya, engaging in four key priorities for collective action. These priorities include:

  • Establish equal land rights
  • Strengthen women's access to finance and economic empowerment;
  • Increase political participation, including by applying the two-thirds principle; and
  • Improve access to badual and reproductive health as part of the drive to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Currently, more than 400 organizations worldwide have joined the campaign, creating a movement to catalyze action for girls and women.

The political priorities of the campaign are closely aligned with the Big Four Agenda and the government's commitments to prioritize gender equality at the national and county levels.
