MTN closes office in Abuja because of NLC protests

The management of the union and other members had barricaded the company's headquarters in Lagos for about eight hours.

NAN reports that a source in Abuja revealed that a directive from MTN headquarters in Lagos had been given to all employees. "Maybe it's because of the protest of some people in our Lagos office," the source said.

"We were told to come to but the other staff members of the organization were asked to stay home until further notice."

The protest in Lagos was led by Ayuba Wabba, President of the NLC

"There are many anti-business practices, including the denial of freedom of badociation and the right to collective bargaining," said Wabba
