The 2018 Visa Opening Report places Kenya in ninth position, up from 15 last year and 16 in 2016, highlighting the country's significant efforts to facilitate the movement of people from the nations of the world. region.

According to the AU, the remarkable improvement by Kenya results from the new arrival visa policy for all visiting Africans in the country.

"Kenya has climbed six places among the top 10 countries in the 2018 Visa Envelope Index in Africa. The country's improved rating is in line with its new visa policy in the United States. arrival for all Africans, "says the report.

The free visa regime was announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta in his inaugural address in November 2017.

"For my fellow Africans, the free movement of people on our continent has always been the cornerstone of pan-African fraternity and fraternity.

"Today, I say that any African wishing to travel to Kenya will be eligible for a visa at the point of entry," Kenyatta said at the time.
