EXCLUSIVE
Kim Kardashian was in the death row of San Quentin Thursday … on a mission.
Kim has taken his prison reform show on the road to one of the most notorious prisons in the United States … with the aim of releasing an inmate who has been waiting for death since 1983.
Kevin Cooper, 61, was convicted of four heinous murders committed in Chino Hills, California in the 1980s and sent directly to death row. In the meantime, the death sentence was suspended, restored, there was a gas chamber, then death by lethal injection … and all the while, Cooper was waiting to die, still proclaiming his innocence.
As we had announced … in October, Kim then asked the governor of California Jerry Brown at examine the case of Cooper because of the evidence, Cooper was framed. Brown ordered DNA testing, largely because of Kim's campaign. New Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, ordered additional tests in February.
Newsom is waiting for the final results of DNA testing, but Kim has decided to visit her so she can have her first face to face with the guy she's looking to release. Kim, who wore all the black, spent 2 hours with him and is more convinced than ever that he was framed.
For the moment … Cooper will not be executed because Governor Newsom is an opponent of the death penalty who has suspended all executions as long as he is in office.
We guess that Cooper is happy to have KK on his side … Kim and his legal team have released 17 inmates at liberty in the last few months.
