Richard C Hoagland, a former NASA consultant and conspiracy theorist, firmly believes that extraterrestrial civilizations once existed on Mars and on other planets in the solar system. Researchers such as Mr. Hoagland have instead decided to believe that the entire solar system was colonized at some point and that the evidence was there to collect it.

NASA scientists hope to find evidence of microbial life in the depths of the Martian soil – not a proof of developed civilizations.
